St Aubyn Estates

Farming

Our ethos is to balance conservation and food production.

The land we manage produces a wide range of crops including maize, wheat, barley, potatoes, cauliflower, calabrese, cabbage, and courgettes.

We have been long-established members of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme, and have joined the new Sustainable Farming Incentive Pilot Scheme.

The rest of the farmland on the Estate is managed by agricultural tenants, many of whom have cared for the same farm for generations and are part of the fabric of the West Cornwall community.

Conservation

We look after a diverse range of natural habitats, and truly stunning landscapes, across the Estate – much of it within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, World Heritage Site, or Site of Special Scientific Interest. Marazion Marsh and the coastal land around Porthgwarra are two particularly special examples.

Property

The Estate has a variety of residential, agricultural, and commercial properties.

A number of our buildings and landscapes play a key role in everyday life in West Cornwall. Such as; Gwennap Head Lookout Station, Marazion Community Centre, Mount’s Bay Pilot Gig Club, Mount’s Bay Sailing Club, Friendship Woods in St Hilary, and allotments in Marazion and Longrock.
